About UDIN
Unique Document Identification Number (UDIN) is a platform-based 25-alphanumeric system generated unique number for the documents attested by users/applicants in various domains. UDIN platform (https://udin.wb.gov.in/) is being developed by the Department of Information Technology and Electronics, Government of West Bengal.
Importance Of The UDIN
The government departments and agencies will not have to store the same documents at multiple levels, thus saving storage cost.
It will remove the hassles that public may have to go through to upload the same set of documents at multiple platforms- thus creating a single stage verifiable document portal.
Because it is based on Blockchain technology, the documents so uploaded remain immutable, whereby no user can claim it to be false, thereby creating a sense of security for the parties involved.
Objective Of the Platform
This platform allows you to upload documents on the UDIN platform and then generate a declaration letter with those documents. Each uploaded document and Declaration Letter has a unique UDIN (Unique Document Identification Number). One can avoid the hassle of verifying each document individually. All the attached documents to the declaration letter are considered to be verified by the KMC authority if the declaration letter itself is verified. So, all you need to participate in a tender is a verified "DECLARATION LETTER".
